Kereki settlement, 7 km far south to the lake Balaton, is located in Outer-Somogy, in the Kőröshegy-Pusztaszemes valley. Origin of its name is the adjective derivative of the noun kerek (round).
The word kerek means a forest of circular shape. Other say this sattlement is called after its round church that was destroyed in the past. The settlement is accessible by public transport – by buses. The ruins is accessible by walk from the center of the vilage. The red (L) sign shows the way to the ruins. The other curiosity of the village is the belfry what was built at the end of the 18th century. Along the village main road passage the belfry is still viewed on.
